Charlotte Protests

These photos were taken on Saturday, September 24, 2016, of the ongoing protests in Charlotte, North Carolina, after the shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, a black man. The police claimed he was armed, while his family claimed he was only holding a book. The protestors were asking to see the body camera footage from the incident, which the police were withholding. Greensboro-based Cakalak Thunder, a self described “radical street band,” was among the groups playing during the afternoon protest.
