As a young reporter, I’ve worked in a daily, weekly, and long form, online setting. Most recently I worked as the political reporter at the Watertown Daily Times, covering Northern New York’s elected representatives in Washington and Albany. I have written breaking news, campaign coverage, investigations, explanations, features and profiles at the Times and elsewhere.
I am particularly interested in the ability of journalism to connect people’s individual stories with broader policy issues and solutions. Mostly, though, I just like meeting interesting people and writing down what they say.
In the fall of 2019 I will begin a MPP at Duke’s Sanford School of Public Policy. I graduated with a double BA in English and political science from Guilford College, in Greensboro, NC, where I was the 2016 student grantee with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.
